About WhisFam
Whisfam + One
Jake and Kelli have been married for almost 13 years. They have 2 kids, Caed age 9, and Kenna age 7. Kelli is the sole writer for the WhisFam blog. She chronicles the latest happenings of their family along with snippets of her personal journey. The WhisFam are a family of believers with Jesus Christ as the head of the household. Oh yeah and we have a family pet named BlackJack. A super sweet, stinky bulldog that brings much joy to our family.
Jake — My dear, sweet, husband. I affectionately call him, “the perfect husband” because he never seems to do anything wrong. In fact, if he wasn’t doomed to live this life with me, he’d probably never even get mad. He’s very even keel. He has a servant’s heart to the utmost. He’s genuinely a good man, sincere, and bust-a-gut funny. Oh yah and he likes to wrestle…
Caed – My oldest child, my firstborn, my gentle, silly, spirit, who fills our house with his Star Wars sound effects and fun facts he reads about at bed time. He’s all about Lego’s and Star Wars. Laid back, easy going, like his dad. He’s a great big brother to a demanding little sister. Loves his buddy BlackJack. He’s an inventor and explorer at heart and really just likes to have fun. I have a feeling he’ll be jokester like his dad when he grows up. He’s a sensitive and perceptive big 9 year old. He’s our champ!
Kenna — Two years younger than her brother, she goes by the nicknames of “Miss. A” (a for attitude), Sissy, stinky butt, and sweets. As long as you’re playing with her, she’s happy. She keeps us on our toes. If she was born first I’m sure she’d be a only child. But seriously, if it weren’t for her spirited personality I’d be one lazy parent. She keeps me on my knees in prayer and my gears turning on how to be a better parent. I really wouldn’t have it any other way. She brings spark and personality to our home. She loves dates with her daddy and playing with “buggy guy”. She loves dollies and tea parties and being active. She’s our baby girl.
Kelli – Blog author, I am the mom of this household. I drive my family crazy I’m sure with my mood swings and love of staying up way too late. I like writing, reading, running, and going out with girl friends. I also love quiet evenings at home with my husband or going out on dates with him. Anytime alone with him is a good time. (except that one time when I was pregnant and we were going out to eat and he advised me that I shouldn’t order the Oreo shake…).
BlackJack – The family pet. This little guy was so hard to get used to. And nearly had a new home more than a couple of times. But now we could never imagine our home with out him. He’s the perfect dog. He rarely barks and when he does it’s quite funny. He barely needs to go outside. And he sleeps his day away. He simply lives for us. We’re his people. When we come home after being gone for even a minute he attacks us with rump wigglin’ and jumping up on us. He can barely contain himself. He loves visitors but not other dogs. People say he’s so ugly he’s cute but I have yet to find anything ugly about my little buddy.
One — One is The One. Our Father God in Heaven. He is the center of our heart and home. If it weren’t for him none of this would be possible. God, through his son Jesus, saved Jake and I before we were married. While we were sinners Christ died for us and accepted us and loved us. Jake and I truly love because Christ first loved us. I still find it hard sometimes to believe God loves and accepts me and unless he didn’t
